Valve Clearance Check
If you are anything like me, the idea of a climbing down into the valves of your GL1800 engine probably brings on visions of oil and grease everywhere as you panic trying to figure out how to get everything into a basket and over to your dealer after you've really screwed things up. Even after reading through the Service Manual and watching Fred Harmon's GL1800 Maintenance Videos I was feeling a bit over my head as I prepared to tackle the job. But don't worry about it, it really is easier than assembling a bicycle to go under the tree on Christmas eve.
There are some important lessons I learned when I did mine that I want to pass on to the first timer getting ready to tackle his 32K maintenance instead of surrendering the $650+ to the local dealership. Hopefully this will save you some time and even more money.
