Fred Harmon's Maintenance Videos
One of the best tech tips I can offer is a link to another site that offers the famous Fred Harmon Maintenance Videos. Fred is an extremely knowledgable Wing rider that decided to video tape his own maintenance practices and put them on DVD. The results are humorous, but at the same time extremely informative. He holds the camera with one hand while working with the other, adds his own commentary (often saying one thing and meaning another, but you get what he means), and some of his home-made tools might have you shaking your head.
There are two ways to use these DVD's: Watch them all the way through for entertainment purposes, then next time you are ready to tackle swapping out the air filter or the tires make sure to watch that section to know what you are up against (and how easy it can be). The DVD's are pricey, but priceless in my opinion. Let your significant other know that these are on your wish list come Christmas or your birthday.
