For my 51st birthday (May 29) Carole surprised me with a stay over Memorial Day weekend at a swanky mansion in San Jose, and then a ride on my birthday to Lake Tahoe where we stayed for two nights. The ride to Lake Tahoe was a first time ride for both of us over Carson Pass. Most folks from the Bay Area take Hwy 50 from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe. However, we were looking for a bit more of an adventure so we tackled the High Sierras between Donner Pass and Senora Pass.
